Gold Coast Pest Services are fully licensed and insured to provide a full range of pest control and termite services in Bundall and Sorrento, including:

Having a general pest treatment once a year is the go-to option for most homeowners in Sorrento as it keeps most everyday pests at bay.

Unfortunately weather conditions in Bundall are ideal for termites, which means homeowners should have their homes inspected for termite activity at least once a year. Having a termite inspection carried out at the same time as the annual pest spray is the most efficient and cost-effective way of having the two services.

Key Pests in Sorrento (Bundall)

Termites love moisture and warm temperatures, which makes them the number one pest of concern for Sorrento residents. However, plenty of other pests can also be a nuisance, such as cockroaches, ants and mosquitoes (and biting midges for those close to waterways).

Cockroaches and rodents are the top pests for those living in apartment blocks or close to commercial buildings where food scraps and rubbish attract them – sometimes in large numbers.

While mosquitoes are something we’ve all learned to live with, sometimes an infestation can be particularly bad, making outdoor areas challenging to enjoy. If you have a problem with mosquitoes, we can help with a treatment that targets them specifically.

Having an annual pest treatment is an easy and cost-effective way to keep pest numbers down, especially during the summer months when pests seem to appear at every turn!

Termite inspections and treatments Sorrento (Bundall)

Having a property inspected for termites once a year is essential for keeping it free from termite activity. During the inspection, one of our professional inspection team will carefully search for signs of activity – this takes an expert eye, as termites are adept at concealing their presence. The report will outline what has been identified and will also give recommendations for further action, such as how to make conditions around your home less attractive to termites, thus reducing the chances of a termite attack.

Termite damage is not covered by most home insurance policies, so taking the extra step to install a termite protection system is an excellent idea. Homeowners should consider investing in a protection system as termites can cause significant damage in a matter of months.

For anyone building a new home or doing renovations, building regulations require that termite protection needs to be incorporated into the building during the construction phase. Gold Coast Pest Service can provide advice during the design phase to ensure the appropriate systems are including during construction.

About Bundall

Located west of Surfers Paradise and the Nerang waterways, Bundall / Sorrento is a pleasant neighbourhood of mostly canal estates.

In the 1860s the land was used by European settlers to cultivate sugar cane, though operations later relocated to the tropical north. Dairy farming then became the main trade until the land was developed for urban use.

In the 1960s, the growth of the Gold Coast community saw several canal estates being successfully built in nearby suburbs (namely Chevron Island). These led to the development of Bundall Waters and later Sorrento canal estates in the south of Bundall.

Although there are no schools in Bundall, residents have shops along Ashmore Road and arts facilities, including an art gallery, to the east. Southport Racecourse is a notable landmark in the centre of the suburb. Bundall Corporate Centre (pictured above), where Slayter Avenue intersects with Bundall Road, is an attractive business centre overlooking the Nerang River.

With warm temperatures and a good amount of annual rainfall, Bundall/Sorrento provides the ideal environment for pests to thrive. Living in the canal estates is certainly pleasant but comes with the drawback of dealing with mosquitoes and biting midge. Keeping on top of pests with an annual treatment is the best way to keep homes and businesses free from pests.
