Termite inspections and treatments in Surfers Paradise

For homes in surfers we recommend a professional, comprehensive termite inspection at least annually and all homes should also have a termite protection system installed to prevent concealed termite attack.

Standard home insurance policies do not cover termite attack, so it’s a smart investment to get a termite protection system installed. With termite attack more likely than flood, fire and other natural disasters combined, in many ways a termite protection system is really more important than your home insurance!

We generally bundle termite inspections with the other pest management services we offer to body corporates, including general pest, rodent and mosquito treatments. About Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise started early as a tourist destination. After James Beattie (the first European settler) sold his unsuccessful farm to Johan Meyer in 1877, Mr Meyer also tried his luck at farming, focusing on sugar cane. But it too failed due to the sandy soils. So he turned to tourism, operating a horse-and-buggy services from Southport train station to the beach and from 1880 to 1928, Meyer’s ferry ran services across the Nerang river. He built the Main Beach Hotel, in an areas that was called Elston.

In 1917 a land auction in Elston first referred to Surfers Paradise Estate. This was the start of land sales down the coast, and Jim Cavill opened the Surfers Paradise Hotel in 1925. However, it wasn’t until after world war two, in the 1950s and 1960s, that the real development boom occurred. The first high rise, the 10 storey Kinabool, was built in 1959.

With all the development, little remains of the original mangrove, rain forest and sand dune vegetation, apart from the area from main beach up to the spit.

With its year round warm temperatures and regular summer storms, Surfers Paradise is a pest hotspot. In the high density hotel and apartment areas, where there is plentiful food, cockroaches and rodents can be a real problem. Homeowners and business owners will need to carry out regular treatments to keep their homes and businesses pest free.
